TRIFEXTRA: The Prank

This post is in response to the Trifecta Trifextra Weekend Challenge.

I'd like to take a moment to send out a special thanks to my husband, Chris, for keeping me on my toes at all times. He gave me the idea to use this real life April Fool's Day experience for the last part of the challenge. I appreciate your help with this prompt, dear husband. April Fool's is coming up and I can already see his gears turning.

For the prompt this week, Trifecta gave us the first 33 words of a story. I put them in bold below. Then, we were asked to complete the prompt with "33 of your own words". Here's what we came up with:

The Prank

“There’s nothing cute about it,” he said. The register of his voice indicated decision more so than discussion.

She disagreed heartily and privately, staring past his head and out the window behind him.

“It’s April Fool's” she chuckled

“I have a meeting to go to and my tongue is green!”

“Nothing a toothbrush can’t fix.”

“I should have never let you make my coffee.” He sighed.

Thanks, Gina. Yes, I agree. I love coffee (decaf) as well, so the color doesn't matter...except if you are going to a meeting. :P

  3. How'd you green his coffee? Does green food coloring not show in black coffee?

    1. It was put into a travel mug with a top. I definitely don't think it would show in black coffee. Just make sure you put it in a darker color mug so when it swishes, it doesn't show.:)

  10. I love your take on the prompt! The green tongue is funny...

My husband would immediately be suspicious if I made his coffee (because in nearly 15 years of marriage I have never done that!)

    1. HAHA! I didn't explain up top because the kids came out of their rooms right before I posted, but the roles were reversed in real life. I was the one with the green tongue. So, Guap, wanna help me come up with some revenge this year??

Poor guy. All green tongued. That's a hoot!

[Yikes! Even my response to you, above, has 33 words in it. I think I may be addicted to Trifectacating now! Not to be confused with Defecat....... never mind!]

  19. I'm in awe of the 33 word prompts. I tried one once and 68 words into it realized I was a failure. Great job!
