Ketchup With Us: Prompt #5

While planning for our link-up, Michele and I thought it would be cool to hear a 57 word ghost story since we'd be posting the day after Halloween. Of course, writing our own stories scared the bejeesus out of both of us, but it was worth it. The only question is...are they fact or fiction?

 The Uninvited Guest

The smell always came first, as if to present himself.
A heavy cloud of burning tobacco would engulf her.
Footsteps soon followed. From the basement he would come.
Every night, like clockwork. Uninvited. Unaware of his presence .
He’d call her name again and again as she lay frozen watching
his shadow climb the wall, announcing his arrival.

For a quick explanation of this link-up, click here. In short, Michele and I will post a picture or video with a writing prompt on the 1st and 15th of every month. All you need to do is respond in 57 words or less. In any form. We love creativity. And, with each prompt, we'll feature a writer from the previous link-up. Which reminds me ...

Our esteemed Ketchup With Us Featured Writer for today is ...
