Sharknado: The Remake

Chris: "Honey, can you get me some of the plastic sharks from the basket of bath toys?"
Me: "Do I want to know why?"
Chris: "Two words. Sharknado Vine."
Me: "The answer should have just been 'NO'. No, you don't want to know."

While visiting our family in Philadelphia this weekend, we were swept into the hype about the SyFy thriller, 'Sharknado.' If you haven't heard of it, it was as bad as it sounded ... if not worse. I missed the first half of the movie while napping with the kids, but no worries! I was quickly caught up on the intense plot with it's various twists and turns. I'm kidding. It was summed up in ... like ... two sentences.

So, of course, my husband had to recreate this campy film. He gathered his materials with the kids in order to create his props. Take a look...

Then, the remake began. If you haven't had a chance to view this cinematic masterpiece, you may want to divert your eyes. Or, better yet, save yourself two hours. The following series of Vines highlights all of the major scenes in the movie in three, six second videos. Enjoy!

    1. Thanks, Wy. It was Chris' idea. I just held things and collected the sharks. :)

  2. Haha, that looks like the Most.Awesome.Movie.EVER. It can't be better than the re-enactment though!

  3. Oh I have heard bits about that movie. I am also a total B movie junkie but for some reason sharks in a tornado have left me just oh so very curious but thanks to Chris's fantastic film skills and the gift of Vines only being 6seconds... I actually think I'm good now!!!! Also google seems a bit wonky this morning.ust not have had her coffee. If my profile doesn't show this is Carrie (akaLaverne)

  4. Um...pretty sure a movie has to age a bit to be considered a classic.
Sharknado should get there in about 300 years.

Great reinterpretation though! Much much better than the original!

  5. I have a feeling your clips are better than the movie.

Then again when dealing in absurd B movies, worse is better than better.

  7. Loved it. 18 seconds in lieu of 2 hours. Not bad. I actually intended to watch this one and possibly invite my children. (No, I have NO IDEA of its appropriateness/inappropriateness and OF COURSE would have checked first. GEEZ!) It's just that I've been nurturing a healthy fear of swimming in open water with my children. Yes, on purpose. I'M A MOM!

Next up ... I need to make them afraid of sugar, cigarettes, R rated movies and leaving home!
